The Upper Room

My Christian Friends, My Church:
For my first two years in Winnipeg I had struggled to find a community of believers/peers to belong to... I visited and revisited many great, and in my opinion, a few not so great churches here. And although I met many wonderful people, still I couldn't find a church to settle into, at least not one with many people my age. I wanted somewhere that enriched my walk with the Lord and somewhere that I could get involved and serve, but also somewhere where I had peers my age so that I had Christian friends... This was huge for me, I didn't realize how much I needed Christian friends until I had none.
...
Tonight we met again in my living room with the Young Adults Leadership Team, an evening of preaching, worship, teaching and brainstorming for upcoming events for the huge group of young adults at our church.
...
Yes! Our church, My church...I finally have found my place of belonging, my place of serving and a church with a community of believers that challenge, inspire and grow me to be even more passionately in love with Jesus. I have never felt so alive in Winnipeg. To be alive living in the purpose and passion that the Lord has been leading me in ministering among my peers and also being greatly ministered to! Praise God for this community of believers! Praise God for these moments of growth with the greatest leadership team, who are filled with the Spirit of God, and committed to the work of the Lord, and whom stand strong on his Word and live as witnesses for the Most High. Let us continue to encourage one another and love one another deeply, thinking of each other higher then ourselves and keeping one another in prayer. I love these people. Praise you God, You Are so faithful!

  1. You are an inspiration. I am so proud of you for reaching past yourself and into the arms of someone in your life. God wants us to be an open book so others will know Him through Jesus. But in your walk with Him do remember He puts you places so that the most unlikely potential believers may learn from the most unlikely believers. I know you are in search for peers your age but sometimes in your church that "He may put you in", are the disciples He has chosen already. Go and continue to do great work, always remember, He has a path for all of us. Praise the Lord AK
